OVERVIEW

WEVERTON CLIFFS, MD: SHORT MODERATE HIKE PAIRED WITH AN AFTERNOON AT A LOCAL VINEYARD'S HARVEST CELEBRATION.

Although this is one of our shorter trails, you will still earn your post-hike drinks at a local vineyard.

This 3-mile out and back hike may be short, but you'll still get your workout. After climbing up switchbacks for the first 1.5 miles on the well known Appalachian Trail, you will find yourself atop of Weverton Cliffs. From there, you'll be rewarded with wide views of the Potomac River winding through the Appalachian Mountains.

After the hike we will head to Breaux Vineyards, a winery nestled among the Blue Ridge Mountains, just a short drive from the Appalachian Trail. You'll get to participate in their Harvest Celebration and Oyster Throw Down.

You'll sample a delicious selection of wine, enjoy oysters and a variety of local seafood, and listen to live music while taking in the vineyards and surrounding mountain views.

Van will be picking up and dropping off from the Metro Center stop. Please note: Return times back to the city can vary from the listed times depending on the pace of the group and the notoriously terrible traffic!.

What should I wear?

Wear layers you can remove as temperature allows and pack a waterproof jacket just in case.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

All sales are final. Unfortunately, refunds cannot be given for any no-shows on the day

What if it’s raining?

Trips will still run rain or shine; however, if there are severe weather risks, we’ll contact you in advance about a potential cancellation or weather plan.
